What is MISFITZ?
MISFITZ is a free-to-play mobile extraction shooter by Antihero Studios where players loot Relics and can betray allies at the extraction point. It plays in 5-minute sessions with no pay-to-win. You team up with anyone you meet, but the catch is they can turn on you and take everything.
What is an extraction shooter?
An extraction shooter is a multiplayer game where players enter a map, collect valuable loot, and must reach an exit point to keep it or lose everything on death. The genre started with Escape from Tarkov on PC. MISFITZ by Antihero Studios is bringing it to mobile in a way that doesn't require a 45-minute commitment and a spreadsheet.
How is MISFITZ different from Arena Breakout or Tarkov?
MISFITZ is a casual-friendly, social extraction shooter designed for mobile, while Arena Breakout and Tarkov focus on hardcore military simulation. MISFITZ uses a top-down perspective, simple controls, and social mechanics that create stories instead of stat checks. Sessions are five minutes, not forty-five.
How does the alliance and betrayal system work?
MISFITZ lets players propose temporary alliances mid-run, but either player can betray the other at any time with no cooldown or penalty. You meet someone during a run, fight them, avoid them, or propose an alliance. If they accept, you work together. But at any point, either of you can turn. The best runs are the ones where you genuinely don't know what's going to happen.
What are Relics?
Relics are collectible cultural artifacts in MISFITZ — songs, art, memories, and games locked away by the entity Zero. New sets drop every season, some are collaborations with real brands, and rare ones only appear under specific conditions. The collection is the metagame — every run is progress toward completing your set.
How many players are in a match?
MISFITZ matches feature 16 players per session with no matchmaking queue and instant drop-in to a live world. You load in and the world is already running.
How long is a session?
A typical MISFITZ session lasts 5 to 10 minutes, designed for mobile play on the go. Short enough for a bus ride, intense enough that you'll remember the run where your teammate stole everything at the exit.
What characters can I play?
MISFITZ currently has 6 playable characters, each with distinct abilities and a unique player community. Ray, Rush, Beat, Gloss, Shade, Drip, and more. Your character choice says something about you. The community has opinions.
Can I play with friends?
Yes, MISFITZ supports squads, solo play, and mid-run alliances with strangers in every match. Proximity chat means you'll actually hear people negotiate, trash-talk, and beg for mercy in real time. Fair warning: the betrayal mechanic doesn't care about your friendship. Some of our best playtest stories involve people who didn't talk to each other for a day.
Will MISFITZ have proximity chat?
Yes, MISFITZ includes proximity chat that lets you hear nearby players in real time during runs. Negotiate alliances verbally, trash-talk, listen for footsteps and whispered plans. It makes betrayal personal — you'll hear someone promise they won't turn on you, right before they do.

Is MISFITZ free to play?
Yes, MISFITZ by Antihero Studios is completely free to play with no pay-to-win mechanics. Cosmetics only. Everything that affects gameplay is earnable by playing the game. We wrote a whole post about why.
What platforms is MISFITZ available on?
MISFITZ by Antihero Studios is coming to iOS and Android with full crossplay enabled by default between both platforms.
When does MISFITZ launch?
MISFITZ by Antihero Studios is currently in playtest, with global launch planned for later in 2026. The playtest is open if you want in early.
How do I join the playtest?
To join the MISFITZ playtest, drop your email on the Antihero Studios homepage at antiherostudios.com. That's it.
Do I need a creator code to play?
No, a creator code is not required to play MISFITZ or sign up for the playtest. Codes are optional. If a creator sent you here, entering their code supports them.
Is there crossplay between iOS and Android?
Yes, MISFITZ has full crossplay between iOS and Android in the same sessions and same world.
The Studio
Who made MISFITZ?
MISFITZ is made by Antihero Studios, a team of about 13 people based in Barcelona, Spain. The founders previously worked on Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, and Candy Crush. They left to build something they couldn't build inside a big company.

The Anti-Gaming-Brand principle is Antihero Studios' governing creative rule that nothing we make should look, sound, or feel like a stereotypical gaming brand. No fake ads. No "DOWNLOAD NOW" banners. No soulless corporate tone. If a brand we admire outside of gaming wouldn't do it, we don't do it.

Do you sell merchandise?
